Fine Art School Photography


Greetings! I'm Sarah, local nurse, photographer and mom of two young kids, and I'm so thrilled to now be offering school photos! Learn more about me here. My goal is to provide you with fine art heirloom portraits of your students that will be cherished forever.


Fine art photos are a modern approach to school photography. Children are encouraged to be themselves so that their personality will shine through in their images. I strive to capture organic and expressive photos--no canned smiles here.


How Does this work?

  • I work with the school to select a date (or dates) and location--usually on campus. I do bring my own backgrounds and lighting equipment. I'm happy to photograph indoors with a solid backdrop (choose white, grey or black), or outdoors in a more natural setting.
  • I'll provide the school with communications to send out to parents describing the process, questionnaires, and reminders, so everyone is prepared to take awesome school photos!
  • Picture day!!! I'll need a staff member or parent volunteer to help organize the students through my station and keep the day going smoothly. I'm more than happy to do sibling photos, bff photos, staff photos, and class photos.
  • I work on editing photos and filling each student's gallery. About 3-4 weeks from photo day, I'll send out notification to parents (or to the school to send to parents) with access to each child's secure online photo gallery.
  • Each child's gallery will contain at least 5-10 poses, available in both color and black/white.
  • From the gallery, parents will choose their favorite images and order prints, canvases, gifts and digitals directly and securely. Galleries are shareable with friends and loved ones. I generally do one bulk order within a few weeks of gallery release so that parents can take advantage of lower bulk pricing. Howevera, if they miss the order cutoff, they will still have access to ordering through the gallery, but prices will be slightly increased.
  • Framed prints and canvases will be shipped directly from the lab.
  • Digitals will arrive in email inboxes directly after ordering.
  • All other prints will be delivered by me to the campus within 2-3 weeks of my bulk order.

Parent FAQ

What should my child wear?

Your child should wear whatever they feel most comfortable in. If possible, please avoid loud patterns, bright red, orange or neons, as these can distract from your child's beautiful face. All images will be shot from the shoulders up.


I have more than one kid at at this school...

Great! Let's do sibling photos too! I'll include them in your kids' galleries.


Can we do class photos?

Absolutely! I generally provide a printed class photo for each child, free of charge.


What about yearbook photos? Staff photos?

Yes! I'm more than happy to provide the school with digitals of students and staff, free of charge, for identification or yearbook purposes.
